Для написания этой статьи я не только съездил в Мендосино, но и извлек из специальной ботанической библиотеки в Сан-Франциско практически неизвестную научную книжку про данный лес Robert E. Sholars. The Pygmy Forest and associated plant communities of coastal Mendocino County, California. Genesis, vegetation, soils. Black Bear Press. 1982. Также я использовал статью Alice Q. Howard. Understanding the Pygmy Forest through time. Fremontia, volume 20, no. 3. Кроме этого, я использовал еще несколько источников, включая свою учительницу биологии из коледжа.
